“Doctor, I fear my love has gone quite mad.” Lily Livingstone said.
Lily lay on the couch of her 5th avenue Shrik’s office. Her visit couldn’t have come soon enough, in light of her lover, J.R. “Bob” Dobbs, actions the night prior. He was in a rage and seemed like a mad man as he raved about the devil and a stacked deck poker game.
“The Devil, I mean seriously doctor. Who thinks the devil is real?” Lily said.
Her Shrink shrank into his over stuffed leather, bourbon red, chair. He smoked from a pipe that reminded Lily of Bob’s smoking habit. She never knew what Bob smoked in his pipe and he would never tell her. She bought him grass and tobacco but he left both of them behind. She was his lover but did Lily know anything about the greatest salesman to have ever lived? She had no answers.
“He said he was going back to Connie, but I don’t think he ever left her.” Lily said.
Her shrink sat with a long, yellow, legal pad in his lap. He sat behind his patients to draw doodles when they spoke. His patients were lonely and needed an solid ear. They paid for his real work for humanity, where he raised money for single mothers to receive implants. Most recipients were girlfriends, ex strippers, and, ironically, hair dressers.
Though this man J.R. “Bob” Dobbs concerned the Shrink. Lily was the third torrid lover, this week. Did this Bob have access to the shrink’s patients files or was Bob a state wide headake of illigaitamate childre? And the Devil, could the Devil be real. The shink wanted no part of the implacations of one J.R. “Bob” Dobbs, like SGT Shultz saw nothing…
